IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CONSUMERS
Hansonville Waterworks – PWSID #1167275
Failure to Monitor Source Water for Bacterial Analysis – Green Valley Wells
First Quarter 2025

The Russell County Public Service Authority (RCPSA) is committed to delivering high-quality drinking water and maintaining transparency with our consumers. We are issuing this public notice to inform you of a monitoring oversight that occurred during the first quarter of 2025.

As part of our regulatory requirements, we are required to monitor all source water sites for specific containments on a regular basis. During this period, we failed to collect the required bacteriological sample from the Green Valley Wells, which are registered but have not been active or connected to the distribution system for over five years.

It is important to emphasize that at no time was your health or the safety of your drinking water compromised. These wells do not supply water to the system, and the water from these sources has not entered the distribution system.

We take this matter seriously and acknowledge that the missed monitoring requirement is unacceptable and does not reflect our operational standards. We sincerely apologize for this oversight.

Please be assured of the following:

The last quarterly sample from these wells (Q4 2024) was collected and passed all required testing.
The second quarter 2025 sample has already been collected and passed.
This issue pertains solely to a missed sample collection and not to any issue with water quality or service delivery.
There is no action required on your part as a consumer. You may continue to drink the water. If a situation arises where the water is no longer safe to drink, you will be notified within 24 hours.

RCPSA remains fully committed to regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and ensuring the continued delivery of safe, clean drinking water. We appreciate your understanding and continued trust.
